I heard about this entertainment that was going on at the old church, live entertainment on Friday nights. How boring was that going to be?!?!? I thought, like yawn.
The Lynn Valley United Church moved to their new place, which was built in agreement with the District of North Vancouver. The church also had to double as a concert hall and therefore has all the right acoustics.
I decided to sponsor Friday Night Live because I thought it was going to be great for the community and for meeting new people. However, the first time I went the event blew me away. The quality of the local artists, the sound, the technology, the lighting, the absolute dream team of volunteers that pull this together every Friday night is simply amazing. These are people with full-time jobs giving their community the opportunity to see fabulous entertainment for a nominal amount of money each week.
People just hang out together at intermission and after the show and mingle with the artists after the concert. The venue is stunning and intimate. It’s like having people at your job on Saturday night; a casual kitchen party with entertainment. There is wine by the glass and nibbles by donation, coffee, and tea.
Come hungry, leave fully satisfied – body and soul!
When: Every Friday night, doors open at 7: 30 pm.
